The Cold War occurred during 1945 and 1980, it was a conflict between communist country as the Soviet Union and democratic country as the United Sates of America in where aggression was not part of this war. One major result of the Cold War was the advance of Science and Technology, the one brought results such as Sputnik, having the First Human Landed to the moon and the SDI “Star War”.
Sputnik was one of the scientific and technology result during the Cold War. In October 4, 1957 Soviet Union developed the first worldwide missile artificial satellite the one launched into space and took 98 minutes to orbit the Earth in it is elliptical way. The Soviet’s were the first one to achieve this goal that in some other way brought a feeling of patriotism but at the same time a feeling of completion. Having the result of Sputnik it brought the world into a new “space age” the one will led the Unites States to the creation of the NASA and began a project of having for the first time a human on the moon.
July 20,1969 The United States of America send the first man to landed to the moon. Apollo 11 was the fist spaceflight that made successfully the planning of having for the first time in history a man landed to the moon. This mission was commanded by Neil Armstrong Command Pilot and first to put a foot in the moon, Michael Collinis Command Module Pilot and Edwin Eugen Lunar Module Pilot. These first three astronauts were the ones that made this mission plan significant, successful important to Unites States. Once again the Unites Sates was the first country that made a huge national and global success in terms of science and technology in history.
By March 23,1983, President Ronald Regan designed a program called The Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), more recognized by “Star War”. The purpose of this program was to develop a new anti-ballistic missile system to prevent sooner missile attack from powerful countries the ones had easily access to missiles weapons specifically the Soviet Union and prevent attack from air. By having this program this will bring a huge change in science around the world because it will bring positives and negative results the ones will have an effect of created new weapon effect in the word.

Mikhail Klavdievich Tikhonrav
Tikhoronravov, born in July 29, 1900 . He graduated from one of the most notables Air Force academies in the Soviet Union called Zhukovsky in 1925. He became one of the Soviet pioneers of the Soviet Space program where the new ideas of satellites where born. In 1932 Tikhonrav was part of a Soviet Rocket research group called GIRD which was a Soviet research bureau founded in 1931 to study different aspects of Rocketry, and for 1934 he becomes the head of a department at the Rocket Research Institute (RNII) the same program that designed Sputnik-3, Luna-1, Luna-3, Luna-4 and the early Venus and Mars probes. In March 3 1979 Mikhail Klavdievich die at the edge of 79.
Neil Armstrong

Neil Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta Ohio in 1930. Armstrong joined the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics ( NACA), once he was there he worked as engineer, test pilot astronaut and administrator for the NACA. At the beginning of 1949 Neil served as pilot in the U.S.A Navy and he fought in the Korean Warin 1950. Later on he joined the astronaut training program in 1962 and for 1966 Armstrong was assigned to his first mission where he served as command pilot on Gemini 8, in which the primary mission objectives were to do four previous tests with an small vehicle before they make their final ExtraVehicular Activity experiment. Al though he became one of the famous names in history when he walked on the moon on July 20 when the spacecraft Apollo 11 reached the space, he did not stay on the space program and decided tohe spent seven years as a professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio..

Time Line
Aug 1957- Soviet scientists were able to develop a rocket to power and enforce their ICBM (International Ballistic Missiles)
Oct 4, 1957- The first satellite, Sputnik 1 was launched from Russia into space and successfully reached the Earth's Orbit. This success had the world amazed and gave the Soviet Union big recognition for putting the first human-made object into space
Jan 31, 1958- The United States launches their first Satellite, the Explorer.
May 25, 1961- President John F. Kennedy plans and sets the objective of putting the first person on the Moon.
July 16, 1969- The aircraft Apollo 11 was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The objective of this mission was to cross the orbit and into space to reach the Moon. This was the first time a spacecraft was going to the Moon.
July 20- The lunar module from the spacecraft was detached and reached the Moon surface and landed. The two astronauts that were in command of the lunar module were Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin.
July 24- After few hours on the moon, the astronauts took a 4 day journey back home returning from the Moon to Earth, splashing in the 825 miles from Hawaii.
December 7, 1972- Apollo 17 made its last mission to land on the Moon

Impact on the U.S (Sputnik, Star Wars and Moon Landing)
Moon Landing-------------
Moon Landing was the result of Sputnik. U.S. could no longer tolerate Russia beating them. U.S. was the first country to have man walk on the moon. This showed Russia that U.S. was clearly ahead in the Space Race. U.S was also the first to have there flag on the moon. U.S hasting led Americans to be mentally advanced in Science and technology. This was followed by the creation of Star Wars (sdi) Strategic defensive Iniative it's intention of the program was to develop anti-ballistic missile system to prevent attacks from other countries. With that U.S.'s foreign policy was not compatible with Soviet Union. Russia was a communist country, which meant people did not have the right to form their own political parties. They don't have the right of assembly, speech and the press. U.S. government is elected by free elections, people can form political parties to represent their opinion. We here have the right to freedom and assembly and the press. Since these two forms of gov. are on opposite side conflicts were inevatible. There could be no trading among these two powerful nations.
